Culinarium
All of Culinarium's pieces are one of a kind. Founding artisan, Jordan Castro casts each unit in a handmade mold for about a week, hand burnishes each, and then applies two coats of carnauba wax.
This item is not composed of typical concrete as it has taken Jordan years to perfect the unique blend. The end result is an incredibly strong, smooth, and tactile surface that is more similar in physical characteristics to ceramic or aluminum than it is to concrete.
It is important to note that while Culinarium's concrete mix yields an aesthetically predictable product, the concrete can display slight variation in color and in texture. This piece of art only get better with age—developing rich character and patina over time. Since cement cures at an asymptotic rate, all of Culinarium's concrete products actually get more durable as the years go by.

About Culinarium
All of Culinarium's pieces are one of a kind—Jordan casts each unit in a handmade mold for about a week, hand burnishes each, and then applies two coats of carnauba wax.
Even Culinarium’s concrete is not your typical composition as it has taken Jordan years to perfect the ideal and unique mix. Each concrete piece is composed of an advanced cementitious blend which utilizes extremely small particulate, very little water, and reactive recycled pozzolans. The result is an incredibly strong, smooth, and tactile surface that is more similar in physical characteristics to ceramic or aluminum than it is to concrete.
The final pieces of art only get better with age—developing rich character and patina over time. Since cement cures at an asymptotic rate, all of Culinarium's concrete products actually (and amazingly) get more durable as the years go by. The fact that Jordan uses eco-friendly materials—concrete, recycled rubber, cork, and aluminum—is just icing on the cake.
